Back When Daily
About Back When Daily
Back When Daily is an independent nostalgia journal about growing up and everyday life in America. We explore familiar objects, classic entertainment, neighborhood places and the small rituals that made an ordinary day memorable.
Who publishes these stories?
Back When Daily is the publication named in our article bylines. Its owner sets the editorial direction and is responsible for what the publication publishes. Our articles are researched, drafted and edited through an AI-assisted workflow under that publication name.

How a story is prepared
- Research the subject. Historical details are compared with museums, archives, manufacturers’ records and other primary sources where available. Each article links its sources so readers can check the evidence.
- Review the draft and artwork. AI tools assist with writing, source comparisons and editorial checks. The review looks for unsupported claims, invented quotations, misleading image descriptions and details that do not fit the period. Reflective passages invite readers’ memories; they are not accounts of a reporter’s personal experiences.
- Check the finished page. Automated checks cover source-reference integrity, a recorded editorial review, image requirements, links and publication metadata. Changed text or captions require a renewed review record; the checks themselves cannot determine historical truth. The finished layout and images are also inspected before publication.
These checks can miss errors. We welcome specific corrections and questions about the evidence. Our editorial approach explains the use of AI assistance, historical sources and original artwork in more detail.
Dates and corrections
Articles show their actual publication date. Launch-edition dates are labeled separately. When an article’s text or title is revised, its update date identifies that revision. To report a possible error, email the article address, the detail to check and any supporting source. Correction requests go to the publication’s contact address for review.
Independent, with room for different memories
Our stories do not assume that everyone had the same childhood or that every part of the past was better. Back When Daily is not affiliated with DoYouRemember or the brands featured in its stories. Read our editorial and advertising policy and artwork notes for more.
